One of the many challenges any local food provider faces is how to provide their customers with year round access to their food products, while at the same time keeping seasonality in mind. Here at Oakland Bay Farm our solution to the year round/seasonality challenge are our Community Buying Clubs (CBC). When all's said and done, CBCs are strategically and conveniently located sites throughout communities in Western Washington where once a month you pick-up the products you ordered from our online store. CBCs are open to all. There are no membership or individual customer minimal order requirements. Just place your order(s), pay online and pick up your order on each month's delivery date!
Details, details, details... Over the course of a month, visit our online store and place as many orders as you need. Once a month, in our refrigerated truck, we will deliver your order, in frozen form, to chest freezers we have placed at each CBC to safely hold products until you pick up your order later that same delivery day. Families, individuals, businesses, etc. from many communities in Western Washington have approached us and volunteered their home/garage or business location as a place for us to deliver and house the chest freezer needed to hold your ordered products. We will leave our farm in Shelton early in the morning on the THIRD TUESDAY (click here for a list of delivery dates) of every month so we can have all orders delivered no later than 3pm. After 3pm, arrive at your CBC that best fits your personal or business schedule and pick up your order. Then, over the next month, visit our online store to order your next month's supply of our meat products and we'll follow this pattern all year long!
